30 april 2009 - Mexico City, Mexico - Doctors wearing full body protective gear to examine patients inside the emergency area set up to treat people with flu-like symptoms at the Naval hospital in Mexico City..Mexico opened up its newly built national naval hospital to civilians to deal with the overwhelming number of suspected swine flu cases. Staffers wore goggles, masks and booties to protect themselves while treating patients. The high quality of care stands in stark contrast to most neighborhood hospitals in Mexico City which don't have the staff or resources to deal with the influx of new Flu cases. World health officials raised a global alert to an unprecedented level as the swine flu was blamed for more deaths in Mexico and the epidemic crossed new borders, with the first cases confirmed Tuesday in the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific regionPhoto credit: Benedicte Desrus / Sipa Press
