july 19, 2011 - Juba, Republic of South Sudan - The flag of the Republic of South Sudan and the newly constructed statue commemorating the late Dr. John Garang de Mabior, the leader of the Sudan People's Liberation Army at the Dr John Garang Mausoleum in the capital city of Juba. The statue was constructed ahead of southern Sudan's declaration of independence, which occurred on 9 july 2011.
