Farmer Nazario Poot Palomo, 42, displays a Nal t’eel, an ancient variety of Mexican corn
cultivated on his land in Xoy, Yucatán, Mexico on Wednesday, December 06, 2023. Poot has been supplying GRAN MAIZAL with varieties of corn for five years. GRAN MAIZAL is a Mexican whisky made with ancient varieties of corn from the Yucatán Peninsula, including the oldest recognized lineage in the scientific community: Nal T’eel, and rested with vanilla pods and cacao nibs.
