July 6, 2011 - Juba, Republic of South Sudan - A new born baby is given oxygen by Dr. Flora John. He had trouble breathing at first and was taken to the neonatal intensive care unit in Juba Teaching Hospital, South Sudan's oldest, and by far the largest and best-equipped in the new country. South Sudan has the highest maternal mortality rate in the world. One in seven South Sudanese women is likely to die because of complications from delivery.
